Instructions for Authors

Please follow the guidelines below in preparing a manuscript for submission.

Original Articles
Original research articles should include background and context and/or theoretical/conceptual framework, literature review, methods, findings and analysis, and discussion sections. The literature review should indicate a research gap and be relevant to the research topic and findings. All methodologies need to be clearly described and should match the stated purpose of the manuscript. The findings should be clear, and the arguments set forth should emerge from the analysis of the data presented in the manuscript. Manuscripts should be suitable for BJIT’s generalist readership. Articles should be between 5,000 and 8,000 words including abstract, appendixes, and references.

Review Articles
Review articles should compare several books and/or articles and contain the reviewer’s analysis of the problem under investigation. Reviewers must define and clarify the problem, summarize the findings of previous research to inform the readers of the state of current research, identify the gaps or inconsistencies in the literature and suggest the steps in solving the problem under investigation. Review articles should be between 5,000 and 8000 words including abstract, appendixes, and references.

Research Notes
Research notes should advance a new idea or approach to seeking solution to a problem. It should be between 3,000 and 4,000 words.

Book Reviews
A book review describes and evaluates the quality, meaning and significance of a book. It should focus on the book’s purpose, content, and authority. It should include the complete citation for the work with an introduction that sets the tone of the review and a conclusion assessing the book. Authors should review books published in the last three or four years. The length of a book review should be between 900 and 1100 words. 

Significance and Impact
Manuscripts should focus on questions relevant to respective fields. These questions should be pointed and should also have implications for broader social and cultural problems. Manuscripts should explicitly state their contributions, whether theoretical or practical, and identify the populations that would most benefit from its publication.

Clarity and Style
Manuscripts must be well-written in clear, concise language and be free of technical jargon. As a generalist journal, BJIT strives for all articles to be widely accessible to generalist readers. The editors understand that the specific organization of a manuscript may differ according to discipline and the author’s aesthetic standpoint.

Peer Review Integrity
All submitted manuscripts are subject to initial appraisal by the Executive Editor, and, if found suitable for further consideration, to peer review by independent, anonymous expert referees. All peer review is double-blind.  

Submission Guidelines

  1. Authors should indicate the type of their manuscripts (original article/review article/research note/book review).
  2. The title of the article must be 14-point size.
  3. Please use the font Times New Roman, 12-point size for the main body of the manuscript, and 1-inch/2.5-centimeter margins on all sides, and set the paper size to 8.5×11.
  4. An abstract of 150-200 words should follow the title. The abstract should be written concisely and clearly outlining the purpose of the research, the significance of the study, the design, methodology or approach used, and the findings of the study.
  5. Immediately after the abstract, include five to six keywords.
  6. A brief author profile (not more than 50 words) should accompany the submission. The author’s name and affiliation must not appear on the main body of the manuscript but on a separate cover page.  
  7. References and citations must follow the 6th edition of APA style manual. 
  8. Articles written in Bangla must provide titles and abstracts in English and references in Roman script.

  • Bài gửi chưa được xuất bản trước đó, hoặc đang gửi cho một tạp chí khác xem xét (hoặc một lời giải thích đã được cung cấp trong Nhận xét cho Biên tập viên).
  • Tập tin bài gửi ở định dạng tệp tài liệu OpenOffice, Microsoft Word hoặc RTF.
  • Các văn bản là khoảng cách đơn; sử dụng phông chữ 12; sử dụng chữ nghiêng, thay vì gạch chân (trừ địa chỉ URL); và tất cả các hình minh họa, số liệu và bảng được đặt trong văn bản tại các điểm thích hợp, thay vì ở cuối bản thảo.
  • Văn bản tuân thủ các yêu cầu về trình bày văn bản và tài liệu tham khảo được nêu trong Hướng dẫn cho tác giả.
